Can Do Bristol expands support with new drug and alcohol recovery space
For several years, Can Do Bristol has been the go-to platform for volunteering and connecting with community causes. With over 12,000 members, it’s also a space for groups to share information and support each other.
Now, Can Do Bristol is evolving with the launch of Can Do Recovery in July. This new section of the platform will focus on providing a safe, stigma-free space for people in recovery from drug and alcohol use.
Developed in partnership with Bristol City Council (BCC) and the Lived Experience Recovery organisation (LERO for short), Can Do Recovery will offer:
- A welcoming community free from judgment
- Trusted, up-to-date resources
- Signposting to drug and alcohol recovery services
Earlier this year, Robert Woolf ran a co-design workshop with Friends of Lero who expressed that people in recovery (and their carers) require a supportive and non-judgmental environment where they feel heard, understood and accepted.
And that's precisely what Can Do Recovery aim’s to provide - a recovery community providing support and guidance, whenever you need it, wherever you are on your journey.
Made Open has been fantastic to work with - they really understand our values and the human side of what we’re trying to achieve.
